1. Weenie Wonder
Brought to you by the same team behind PINS and 16-Bit, Weenie Wonder just opened its second location, this one at Easton. The retro hot dog joint features classic and creative hot dogs, tater tots, fries, mac and cheese, and shakes. Both locations are attached to the arcades, so you can start off with a fun dinner, then migrate over to go bowling or enjoy games and drinks.

2. Myungrang Hotdog
Apparently I’m on a hot dog kick for April! Maybe it’s just me anticipating warmer weather. Myungrang made its debut almost a year ago, bringing the trend of Korean-style hot dogs to Columbus. They take hot dogs, sausages, or cheese, then batter, fry them, and serve them on a stick. They’re coated with things like diced potato or sugar, and served with a selection of sauces.

3. Columbus Brewing Company Beer Hall
CBC’s new Beer Hall is a beautiful renovation of one of the Historic Trolley District buildings, right next to East Market. The tile floors, brick walls, big bars, and patios are the perfect backdrop for enjoying 24 CBC beers on tap, cocktails, and a menu that includes everything from Belgian frites and poutine to wings, salads, pizzas, sandwiches, and more.

4. Si Señor Peruvian Sandwiches
Si Señor is a long-running but often still under-the-radar find. I miss their location downtown, but they’re going strong on Fifth Avenue these days. Their big feature is the sandwiches, with more than a dozen options on the menu. Personal favorites include the Chicharron Peruano with pork shoulder, pickled red onions, and sweet potato mayo, and the Jumping Beef with sliced beef, sauteed onions and tomatoes, manchego, and avocado mayo.

5. KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot
KPOT is a national chain that just put down its first roots in Columbus, taking up residence in the Bethel Center (which is a hub of great international eats like Meshikou and New India). The busy and bustling restaurant is best experienced as a group. You can order the barbecue or hot pot experience – or both – and servers bring plates of meats, veggies, and noodles for you to cook on your own.
