Long-time Columbus folks probably have a lot of fond memories of Cup O’ Joe coffee shops from over the years. I remember many grad school meetings and work sessions at the Lennox location with the giant coffee mug over the entrance.
While Cup O’ Joe has scaled back (RIP Lennox, MoJoe Lounges at Easton, Downtown, Short North) or converted locations into Stauf’s (its parent company), this week it expanded with brand new location on East Broad Street downtown, close to CCAD and the Columbus Museum of Art.
Cup O’ Joe downtown sits in the Vera building, a newer residential development on East Broad Street. The open space is decorated in natural woods, creams, and light greens, and features collections of tables and couches, with narrow counters along the front windows.
Like the other remaining Cup O’ Joe in Clintonville (which is being renovated), the downtown location serves drip coffee, pour overs, espresso drinks, iced beverages, hot cocoa, tea.
You’ll also find bagels, muffins…
…cookies, brownies, Rice Krispie treats, and other snacks.
Admittedly it’s been awhile since I’ve visited the Clintonville Cup O’ Joe, but the multi-colored coffee sleeve really brought me back.
Hours for the downtown Cup O’ Joe are currently Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
