Available for the first time in the U.S. this month, Aberfeldy Single Malt Scotch Whisky has introduced the latest addition in its Red Wine Cask Collection: Aberfeldy 15 Years Old Limited Edition.
This was finished in cabernet sauvignon wine casks sourced from Napa Valley.
Since 2019, Malt Master Stephanie Macleod has explored how flavors from red wine casks interact with Aberfeldy’s aged malt.
Aberfeldy 15 Years Old Limited Edition first matures in a combination of refill casks and then finishes in the Napa cabernet sauvignon wine barrels.
The resulting flavor profile has fragrant notes of raspberry jam, parma violets, cinnamon and freshly ground coffee beans, the company reports, alongside the signature honeyed profile that Aberfeldy is known for.
Aberfeldy 15 Years Old Limited Edition is 43% ABV.

Available in June, this new release retails for a suggested price of $69.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
