Simple Lunch recipe for Beginners & Bachelors






This is is a simple Lunch menu combo for Beginners & Bachelors. It’s very easy to prepare in a short time and so tasty. Give it a try

Ingredients:

Paruppu kadaiyal
*******************
Toor dal- 1/2 cup
Onion- 1
Tomato- 2
Green chillies- 2
Garlic cloves- 5
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida- 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds
Dry red chillies- 2
Curry leaves

Cabbage Poriyal

Cabbage- 400 grams
Onion- 1
Green chillies- 2
Moong dal- 2 tbsp
Coconut– 1 piece
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
Ginger- 1 inch
Garlic cloves- 1
Mustard seeds
Curry leaves
Oil
Salt

Rasam:
*********
Tamarind- 1 small goose berry size
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
Pepper corn- 2 tsp
Garlic cloves- 4
Coriander seeds- 1/2 tsp
Tomato- 1
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Coriander leaves
Asafoetida- 1/4 tsp
Red chillies- 2
Mustard seeds
Curry leaves
Sugar- 1/2 tsp
Oil
Salt

Egg pepper roast:

Eggs- 5
Red chilli powder
Pepper powder
Cumin powder
Salt
Oil

Preparation:

First soak the tamarind required for making rasam. Take 1 goose berry size tamarind & soak it Luke warm water for 30 mins.

Next Boil the eggs in water to prepare the boiled eggs. I have took 5 eggs.

Soak 1/2 cup toor dal for 30 mins, Wash it well & move it to Cooker Pan. Add 1 julienne cut onion, 2 finely chopped tomatoes, 5 garlic cloves, 2 julienne cut green chillies.

Add 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/4 tsp asafoetida. Add required amount of water & mix it well. Close the lid and boil it for 3 whistles.

After 3 whistles, it will be cooked nicely. Smash it more with a spatula. once the tempering process is done it will be ready.

In a heated Pan, add 1 tsp oil,1 tsp mustard seeds,1/2 tsp cumin seeds,3 finely chopped dry red chillies & saute

Once it is fried well, add 1/2 finely chopped onion & saute well. Once onion turns golden brown add it to the Dal. Add salt & mix it well. Its ready.

Next we will make Cabbage Poriyal. Take 400 grams & finely chopped it. Put in a cooker Pan, add 2 tbsp moong dal, Water. Close the lid & cook it for 1 whistle.

Once the Pressure is released, Open the lid & filter the water. Do not throw the water way, Just add salt & Pepper powder & drink it when its Luke warm.

In a heated Pan add 2 tsp coconut oil once it is heated, add 1 tsp mustard seeds & urad dal. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds & saute well.

Add finely chopped 1 inch ginger, 2 finely chopped onion, 3 finely chopped green chillies & saute well.

Once the onion turned light golden brown, add curry leaves & saute well. Add the cabbage to this, add salt & mix it well. Maintain low flame for 5 mins.

In the mean time, Prepare the coconut mixture required for this. In a mixer , add 1 finely chopped coconut piece, add 1/2 tsp cumin seeds grind it well without water.

Add the grinded coconut to the cabbage & mix it well. Add 2 smashed garlic cloves to this & mix it well. Saute it for 1 min. Its ready.

To make rasam, in a mixer take 1 tsp cumin seeds, 2 tsp pepper corn, 1/2 tsp coriander seeds, 6 garlic cloves & grind it to coarse consistency without adding water.

Add 1 chopped tomato to this & grind it once. Rasam masala is ready.

Take the tamarind Puree from the soaked tamarind and add it with the grinded masalas. Add required amount of water too.

Add finely chopped fresh coriander leaves, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder & smash the coriander leaves using hands. Coriander leaves flavor will be added nicely.

Do the tempering process, In a heated pan add 1 tsp oil once it is heated add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, 2 chopped red chillies, curry leaves,1/4 tsp fenugreek & saute well.

Once it is sauted well, add 1/4 tsp asafoetida & saute then add the rasam puree prepared earlier.

Once it starts boiling switch off the flame, you will be seeing lot of foam its the right consistency.

After moving it to another vessel, add salt & mix it well. Delicious south Indian rasam is ready. Once it is cooled down close the lid otherwise taste will change.

Cut the Boiled eggs into 2 pieces & keep it ready. In a heated pan, add 3 tsp oil once it is heated place the eggs yolk side facing the oil

This is very simple recipe, its doesn’t have particular measurements so add ingredients according to your spicy needs.

Sprinkle salt ,Pepper powder, red chilli powder, Cumin powder exactly on top of the eggs. Sprinkle garam masala if you like it.

Once it is fried for 1 min, turn over and fry the other side. Repeat the step for 3 or 4 times and make sure its coated with masala & fried well under medium flame.

Once the eggs are fried well, Take it out of the Pan. Simple Lunch Menu is ready.
