The Ugadi Festival in Andhra Pradesh is the New Year festival that is celebrated every year as Ugadi marks the beginning of the Hindi Lunar calendar. Special dishes are prepared on this occasion. As with any festivals, celebrations involve with a lot of food. For this Ugadi festival ,we came up with special South Indian Ugadi thali. We came up with 6 recipes .All recipes are made without Onion and garlic.

Tomatoes – 2
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Drumsticks – 2
Ladies finger – 10
Bottle gourd – ½ cup

Carrot – ½ cup
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

Tamarind pulp – ⅓ cup
Coriander powder – 1 tbsp

Oil – 1 tbsp
Mint Chutney Ingredients:
Mint leaves – 1 Bunch
Peanuts – ¼ cup
Red chilli – 8
Tomato – 2
Oil – 3 tsp
Salt
Tamarind – small ball size
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tbsp
Hing – ¼ tsp
Mint Millet rice Ingredients:
Proso millet – 1 cup
Water
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Ginger – 1 inch
Mint leaves – a handful
Coriander leaves – 1 bunch
Green chilli – 10
Red chilli – 1
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Channa dal – 1 tsp
Curry leaves
Hing – ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Cashew nuts – 10
Peanuts – handful
Salt
Oil
Cluster beans curry Ingredients:
Cluster beans / goru chikudikaya – 2 cup
Green chilli – 10
Red chilli -1
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Hing – ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Salt
Oil- 1 tbsp
Rasam Ingredients:
Coriander seeds – 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Black pepper – 1 tsp
Tomatoes – 2
Green chilli – 2
Hing- ¼ tsp
Ghee – 1 tsp
Red chilli – 2
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Tamarind pulp – 2 tbsp

Ghee – 1 tbsp
Boorelu Ingredients:
Channa dal – 1 cup
Jaggery – 1 cup
Water
Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
Rice flour – 1 ¼ cup
Urad dal – 1cup
Salt
Oil for deep fry
Medhu vada Ingredients:
Urad dal – 2 cups
Amarnath leaves – ½ bunch or 1 cup (chopped finely)
Coriander leaves – a handful
Green chilli – 6 (crushed)
Ginger – 1 inch
Curry leaves- few
Peppercorns – 6
Salt
Soda – ¼ tsp
Oil for deep fry
