Obviously, coming up with decent ideas is easy enough but actually committing to one idea can be pretty difficult because you don’t want to change ideas halfway through (wasting time and money) and you don’t want all that work and effort to be for nothing.
So you can avoid this situation, I want you to go through each dessert idea, write down your top 5 favourites and then narrow down the ideas to one idea.. The questions below should help you with deciding.
– Am I passionate about this dessert idea?
– How practical is it if I was to start it up at home kitchen?
– Is there a demand for this dessert product?
– Where can I sell this dessert? (e.g online, market stall, catering)
– Can I make a decent income from this idea? What’s the profit margins?
– Is this idea time, labour or effort intensive? Is it worth doing?
– Is there a short/long term future in this idea for me?
Do your research, make sure your confident and comfortable with your dessert food idea before you commit your time and money into it. Don’t be afraid to take risk and to be bold and different… life is too short to worry about what ‘might go wrong’. If the idea works then great, if it doesn’t then it was possibly worth a try and now its your job to move on, on to a new idea or something completely different altogether.
